PE Scheme of Work
Key PE Sports provide a high quality Scheme of Work in line with the PE National Curriculum. The scheme has been developed by our team of qualified primary school teachers, with a background in leading Primary PE. Our scheme provides teachers with lessons that are fun, progressive and challenging. The lesson plans are easy to follow and help teachers adopt a more creative approach too teaching and learning within physical education. Lessons provide children with the essential development of agility, balance and co-ordination, inclusive healthy competition and co-operative learning by using fun and engaging games that build up a range of transferable skills. These can be used in a variety of sports and encourages creativity, cooperation and teamwork. Basic skills such as running, jumping and throwing, cooperative and collaborative learning are all covered throughout the scheme. Challenge is encouraged through group and individual challenges.
PE Co-ordinators can create a bespoke curriculum map tailored to their school by using our interactive curriculum overview tool. This will show the breath of skills taught over year groups. Teachers have the ability to be flexible by adapting how many lessons they need to teach on a particular skill or sport.
How we meet the requirements of the PE curriculum:
There are a wide range of lesson plans that cover a number of different skills, including, ABC (agility, balance and coordination), attack and defend, send and receive, striking and fielding and tactics and strategies. Plans to cover sport specific lessons are also included, which can be used for curriculum time or to help enhance after school clubs.
Children are given the opportunity to compare their performances with previous ones and demonstrate improvement to achieve their personal best.
Opportunity is given to engage in competitive (both against self and against others) and co-operative physical activities, in a range of increasingly challenging situations.
Sessions allow time for children to develop an understanding of how to improve in different physical activities and sports and learn how to evaluate and recognise their own success.
